This colour is not a visual representation, but more an idea of a feeling of Culloden Moor.
The Battle of Culloden was fought on 16 April 1746 near Inverness. Jacobite forces led by Charles Edward Stuart sought to restore the Stuart monarchy but were decisively defeated by government troops under Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland.
The defeat ended the Jacobite rebellion and led to severe repression of Highland culture, including bans on tartan and the disarming of clans. In the decades that followed, the Highland Clearances forced many families from their lands as estates were converted to sheep farms, prompting widespread emigration and cultural loss.
This deep, moody green with a black wash serves as a memory for all the souls that suffered during such a hard time. You may remember this colour from Colourways Collective a few years back, available now on all bases for the first time.

By ordering from Obsession Yarns, you accept that each colourway will dye differently on each base - please allow for this if the base you order is not pictured. It is recommended that all Obsession Yarns bases be handwashed in a tepid (room temp) bath with a no-rinse woolwash, and then dried flat out of direct sunlight to preserve colour and quality.
